NEIL D. KATZ, JD, LLM

Mr. Katz, who joined KBK in 1991, specializes in federal and state income tax issues, as well as corporate, partnership, estate and gift taxation.  His expertise includes the strategic planning and drafting of various business agreements and complex estate plans, as well as the negotiation and representation in the acquisitions or sales of business interests.  He has tried cases before the U.S. District Court, the U.S. Tax Court and the New York State and New York City Divisions of Tax Appeals and Tax Appeals Tribunal.

Among the key strengths Mr. Katz brings to his role at KBK is an analytical approach to problem-solving.  He is well skilled at breaking down very complex subjects and communicating them in easily understood terms.  His thorough technical knowledge of Internal Revenue laws is also an attribute valued by KBK clients and the firm's professional colleagues.

Mr. Katz applies both his extensive technical expertise and effective communications skill in his position as an Adjunct Professor at Hofstra University.  He is also frequently called upon to speak before various professional organizations including the New York State Society of CPA's, National Conference of CPA Practitioners, International Association of Financial Planners and Suffolk Life Underwriters Association.

In addition to these professional activities, Mr. Katz is a primary lecturer and contributor to the development of Katz Tax Seminars, LLC; a well recognized, widely attended continuing education program registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy as a sponsor of continuing education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.  In this capacity, Mr. Katz is also recognized by the New York State Bar Association as a provider of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits.
